measures of duration explored the ephemeral nature of both dance and visual art. Dancers interact with painted objects created by reanimating discarded materials such as polystyrene, cardboard and fabric. Through a series of vignettes, the ballet reflects on the cyclical nature of creation and destruction, survival and resilience. It invites the audience to contemplate the measures we use to mark our existence and the lasting impact of transient experiences. Each dancer represented a zone within a set which combined classical forms of architecture with abstract shapes activated by toxic light. It was performed over 3 nights in Brooklyn, New York.
